This year, Coppel acquired, through FONART, 21,120 crafts—made by 900 Tzotzil, Nahua, Zapotec, and Mestizos artisans—with a value of more than $5 million pesos. Thanks to this, it was possible to directly benefit 195 families from communities such as Chilapa de Álvarez, Guerrero; San Andrés Larráinzar, Chiapas; Metepec, State of Mexico; Zautla, Puebla and San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca.
One of the beneficiaries is Diana García, from Metepec, State of Mexico, who adopted her husband's trade and has practiced it for the last 25 years of her life. Her pots, her life trees, and her clay onion bushes have allowed her to earn income to support her family, through Guatemala Mobile Number List decent work that preserves the artisanal heritage of our country. The workshop of Diana and her husband, “Los Pichones”, was contacted by FONART to inform them that their crafts would be acquired by Coppel, with great happiness they got to work to make the 3 thousand clay onion holders and thus close the year satisfactory.
